Rockin' session for under-18s
Noosa Entertainer, December 12 2006

Noosa's newest venue, The J, is hosting an under-18 gig tonight featuring some great live bands over five hours.

The line up includes No Parkin, Mary Magdalene, The Matador, From the Hearts of Heroes, A Cause to Unite, Vices for Virtues and Twelve Guage Murder.

The band No Parkin formed in March 2005 and consists of David Wayth (lead guitar), Dominic Everett (drums/lead vocals), Matthew Upton (bass) and Shaun Tobin (rhythm guitar/back-up vocals).

The Year 10 Good Shepherd Lutheran College students and long-time friends have been enjoying a fantastic year, which started with the Music Mentoring Camp run by the Noosa Council. The boys also recently claimed third place from 24 entries in the Tewantin Noosa RSL battle of the bands.

They also took out top spot in the Nudgee College battle of the bands from 17 entries across Brisbane and finished top four in the Q Song Awards from 900 bands in the high school category.

Writing all their own material, practising in a sound-proofed garage and determined to make it to the big time, these lads are one band to watch and certainly one that will rock the house at The J tonight.

And it's sure to be a monster show with all seven talented bands ready to deliver a huge night of rock.

This is an alcohol and drug-free event. Security will be on hand and ID will be required to gain entry.

Tickets available at the door.
