The Band

The boys of No Parkin, Dave, Dom, Matt and Shaun, attend the local high school, Good Shepherd Lutheran College, in Noosa, Queensland, Australia, where they are in Year 11. They have all been friends for a number of years. They take any opportunity to play at gigs and get themselves in public much as possible. However, they are not old enough to play at venues where alcohol is served.

In January 2006 the band attended a Music Mentoring camp for the Creative Careers Program run by the local council (Noosa Shire Council).

They beat 16 other bands to take First place at the Battle of the Bands @ Nudgee, a competition for high school bands from Brisbane (the nearest major city).

They also came third out of twenty-four local bands in the Tewantin-Noosa RSL North Coast Battle of the Bands. Many competitors were more ‘mature’ bands, mainly from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

During the 2006 Sunshine Coast Music Industry Awards, the band was a finalist for Best Song and the winner of the Encouragement Award.

Another recent success was Finalist, Secondary Division (High School) at The Q Song Awards. A total of 900 songs were entered in the competition. 

The band writes all its own material and has produced a music film clip DVD. This music video was played on "Rage", Australia's all-night weekend music video show screening nationally on ABC TV.

They perform at school regularly and have a following who enjoy their newer music style. The band’s industrious individual and group practices, plus support from teachers, parents and mentors, have assisted their fast development.
